Dr George Adams, Hanshi has been in the martial arts since 1975 and is the holder of a Black Belt 8th Degree in Karate and has had a very successful tournament career in the '80s and '90s, both national and international. He has also extensively trained and has Black Belts in Filipino Martial Arts, Arnis, Japanese Jiu Jitsu and certifications in Muay Thai. His expertise goes well beyond the martial arts. With over 40 years of policing and training police officers, his martial arts knowledge is also based on the reality aspect. Although, his first taste in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) was in 1994 and training for a number of years from one place to another when BJJ was not so available in Australia, it was not until 2006 he took up BJJ very seriously training under a number of very prominent Jiu Jitsu instructors such as Richard Norton, Jean Jacques Machado and many others.
