Jeff began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2010 after a 2-year break from the MMA (MixedMartial Arts, where he was the amateur Ark-LA-Tex Ring Rulers Featherweight champion. During his MMA career, Jeff also trained some no-gi Jiu-Jitsu, but not on a high level. After his break Jeff wanted to get back on the mats, so he began training, both gi and no-gi, full-time.
Jeff has now dedicated his life to Jiu-Jitsu. He travels to many other academies across Texas and the nation, in order to improve his game and technique. After much hard work and dedication, Jeff received his brown belt, after only 3 years of training. He competes multiple times a month, on both the local and national levels.
Jeff was able to follow his dream of opening his own academy, Precision Jiu-Jitsu, in 2014, located in Lindale, TX, and is backed by the Caique Jiu-Jitsu Association. He encourages his students to compete as often as possible, in order to test their skills-sets against grapplers from other gyms and academies. His number one priority, as with most Caique instructors, is self-defense. Mastering the Gracie self-defense system is a pre-requisite to receiving a black belt through the association.
