RICKSON GRACIE



Rickson Gracie, son of Helio Gracie, the co-founder of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, was born on November 21st, 1959 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As an 8th degree coral belt, Rickson fought for decades on behalf of his family and his beloved martial art. Winning over four hundred career matches and serving as a pioneer, Rickson helped spread the popularity of Jiu Jitsu worldwide. 


Celebrated for his invincibility on the mat and respectable conduct outside the ring, Rickson is known as a modern day samurai, inspiring others to follow in his footsteps and strive for greatness. Throughout his career as a professor, Master Rickson taught children, men, women, seniors and law officers, building a legacy of disciplined students and honorable warriors.


In 2012, with the motivation to restore the principles of Jiu Jitsu and promote industry growth, Rickson founded the Jiu Jitsu Global Federation to serve and lead the community to a brighter future. Supported by the Commissions and Master Council, Rickson stands as the president of the Jiu Jitsu Global Federation.
